Switch

I switched to WordPress because I seem to like how it works more now than it did a couple years back. Trouble is the format of all the images in my previous posts look like garbage now and I don’t feel like going back and editing them all. You may think I’m lazy, but it really is too tedious to try and make things look nicer… things that people might not see anyways. I hope you’re okay with that, Xin. Now I have to find and make you a new flashy suit to wear to warm you up some.

Another problem is that I have to go back to all my posts and throw them into the right category. I managed to import everything else correctly though. Oh well.

At it again

I kicked my butt changing every single aspect of this layout from the previous one. Skinning is very tedious.

I am not satisfied.
I want more space for my content. I don’t want a sidebar on the left as big as the main portion of the site. I want less colors, more white space, and more white, I guess. I need more minimization and less graphics.

I am thinking of redesigning. Yes, I like the look of this place and maybe I’ll change the above banner to something else if I feel like recycling the layout.

Tryton and Minh were talking about blogging in style the other day. We found a mutual friend of theirs that did so. She was from Tryton’s high school and from Minh’s house sophomore year! Tiny world, isn’t it! All three of us live in three different parts of California, but we were all brought together somehow. At any rate, she blogged in a narrative form so she rarely used first-person statements. On occasion she would ramble about junk in an emotive state, but other times she would have interesting story-like posts. I’m trying to think of a way to spice up my typings, but I’m more worried about the layout for now.

I think the entire site needs revamping. Sorry for not taking better care of you, Xin.

Overdue

I finally put together a new layout for Xinair. It’s been about one and a half years now! Sheesh. Amazingly it took me a long time to get all of the pieces of this layout together. It’s still not complete yet. If you browse through some of the pages you’ll see what I mean. Hah. I need to make sure all of the pages are also cross-compatible.

At any rate, I’m going home tomorrow for a week (I think) and while I’m there I’ll try to see if I can fix it up more. This laptop has some health problems as well so I might run into more difficulties. Yeck.

It was around 90 degrees F yesterday but today it rained and we had lightning! I was confused at first, because I wasn’t expecting rain. I ran outside when I heard droplets and they were really warm. Interesting indeed!

Ooh, I’m also setting up a shop here on Xinair until I feel like I should move over somewhere suitable. You can visit Sweet Sprout and see if you like anything!

Oh Noes

I lost my stylus for my tablet, which means I can’t draw, which means no doodling or wasting time, which means my life is 30% over, which means I am going to die from boredom the rest of the summer! Help me! I know it’s in Xer’s room somewhere… that is unless Geng took it out of the shoe box and ran off with it, just like my DS games and the DS itself. Jerk! What am I supposed to do? Buy a new one? Who does that? Gah.

Uhh, I am supposed to go to Target with Xer to get some school supplies or something today, but I don’t know when that’s supposed to be. I don’t know why we’re not going to Staples for that, but oh well. I am also going to deposit my check this week! My plans are improving because I have some now.

Anyways, I feel a need for a picture of some kind. This is a sample of the layout I was going to use for this site half a year ago but I never got around to adding content to the code. I ditched the project because it was too small for my likes and was not flexible for many things. I should transform it to suit something else.

A lot better

Thanks to ruud and Mary I was able to fix the category creation problem. It was never deleting the categories, so they still existed. The problem was that they were not being stored correctly in the categories table. Why did it decide to incorrectly do it in the first place? I have no idea. Apparently others have had the same problem but they have not found the root cause yet. Go txtpat support team!

Anyways, I think I have most of the site layout complete now. I just have to add content. In a couple of hours I am off to downtown to get a friend a card and some form of going away present. I don’t want her to lug a ton of stuff onto the plane, so something small? She’s going to study abroad in Taiwan all of junior year so we are all going to miss her.
