Phillip Pullman’s trilogy His Dark Materials, including The Golden Compass, The Subtle Knife, and The Amber Spyglass, was my favorite fantasy/sci-fi series in middle school. I’m happy to see that it’s finally being made big! I cant wait to see Iorek in battle. Apparently the plans are to make all three books into three films and sticking closely with the books is top priority. I have forgotten many details since its been ages when I last read the books, but I still have very high expectations from the film. It’s going to be epic. So this week is RA prep/training week. It is pretty much review from last summer, but we have new administration and supervisors. Anyways, we played Taboo today and there were a couple of quotes I must jot down.
It was a two versus two game. Me and Brian were on one team, Jen and Kristen on the other. It was my turn to give a definition to the word “bull.” I forgot most of the words I could not say, but I know that “cow” and “horns” were listed so I couldn’t say those words until he said them first.
Me: “Okay… a big white mammal with black spots.”
Brian: “Whale…”
Me: “BEEF!”
Brian: “Ooh, pig.”
Me: “D: Uhh.”
Brian: “Ooh, a cow.”
***Everyone is laughing like hell at this point.
Me: “Okay, cow, good. Now a cow with two… things pointing out of its head.”
Brian: “Squid!”
***Everyone laughs a ton more.
Me: “…”
I was also laughing A LOT. Brian doesn’t play the game naming out random answers, so it was silly. HEHHE.
The reason for the mix up is because he has a squid eating a whale wallpaper on his desktop. I always call the whale a cow because it looks like a cow. We won by 7 points in the end. We ended when we had about 67 points or so. Pretty long game.
