The recent week

I just looked out the window to see how sunny it was and a bird just made an awkward back flip. I think the wind disrupted it’s supposedly epic flight maneuvers. I felt sort of embarrassed for it, looked away for half a second, and then looked back. It seemed to pretend nothing happened and flew away like normal. Nature is quirky here and there! At any rate, I haven’t updated this journal in a while and took photos of things that have been happening in this tiny workshop / bedroom / study room / game room / entertainment house of mine. But first things first! I got a gift certificate for presenting my game to prospective transfer students during Engineering Week in Baskin a couple months back. It was only $25 at the bookstore, so it wasn’t enough to buy a dry textbook for next quarter. I browsed the store for more than 5 hours before I found what I wanted to buy.

Ribbon

Ribbon! They cost $5.95 each! They are something I normally would not purchase for myself because they are expensive. Yuck. But I couldn’t resist the dashed pattern. If each roll didn’t come with the dashed design, I probably wouldn’t of bought them! I made a light box the other week as well. I needed a better place to take photos of the charms and jewelry I was making. I went into the box filled garage, grabbed one, started chopping it up with my exacto knife, and taped tissue paper to the sides. This is what it looks like with the ribbon stuck in the inside. I don’t have any other lamps to work with the light box, so no laughing! Below the light box are other examples of photos inside it. The first is of an apple I took from Hindquarter Bar & Grille. We ate there this week for Brian’s birthday. The second is of a Donald Duck candy holder I got from Tryton last Christmas.

Lastly, Tryton’s mom asked me to draw her something ages ago and I haven’t found the motivation to draw something nice. Earlier this month I drew a fairy in a flower and then it changed to a girl standing in an animal floating devise consisting of a shark, seal, fish, bird, and dolphin. Below are photos of it during my process of slowly finishing it. And of course, Tryton wanted me to use the Prismacolor markers he bought me to do the job. I’m really bad at using them effectively, so bare with me! Click the thumbnails to enlarge.

Thumb Thumb Thumb

I was supposed to start a felt project today, but I ended up doing laundry and this instead. Maybe I should start now!

Tuna Salad

I just bought about six books from Amazon. It was quite expensive because I ordered it across seas. The shipping costed almost as much as the books! Agh! But I am going to love them. If I don’t… I’m going to cry for a couple of weeks and then perhaps try to sell them to my little sister for less than half the price. I can’t help it!

I love craft books!

So, I promised myself today I would make some polymer clay figurines. I’ll be off doing that until Tryton is finished with work. We are supposed to go to the beach but it’s a bit windy again. This widget tells me it is 76 degrees F outside, but that’s probably a lie. The water will be cold anyways, but we’ll decide once he gets back.

I also put up my shop officially. You can visit it at SweetSprouts.etsy.com. Someone took the name “SweetSprout” already AND the domain SweetSprout.com is owned by another person selling hand made items. What the heck? I swear I googled for a couple of hours trying to come up with an original name, but it didn’t turn out so well. I’m a bit angry.

Sweet Sprout says Hello

I have been crafting a lot of new things with my new hobby: playing with polymer clay. I actually invested quite a bit of money and time with it and figured I should start selling my crafts so I can purchase more materials. It’s quite fun! Right now I’m setting up my store on Xinair, but if my sells are good enough (one day), I’ll purchase a Sweet Sprout domain. As for now, it will be a part of Xinair.NET. You can find the shop HERE!
